How to use this scientific calculator

Understanding DEG and RAD modes

Trigonometric functions such as sin, cos, and tan depend on the selected angle mode.

  • DEG: Use this mode when the angle is measured in degrees. For example, sin(30) gives 0.5.
  • RAD: Use this mode when the angle is measured in radians. For example, sin(π ÷ 2) gives 1.

Using memory buttons

  • MC: Clears the value stored in memory.
  • MR: Recalls the stored value.
  • M+: Adds the current result to memory.
  • M−: Subtracts the current result from memory.
  • Ans: Inserts the previous calculation result.

Useful tips

  • Use brackets when an expression contains several operations. For example, (12 + 8) × 3.
  • Check whether DEG or RAD mode is active before using trigonometric functions.
  • Factorials are only valid for non-negative whole numbers.
  • A square root of a negative number cannot be calculated as a real number.
  • You can use your keyboard for numbers, operators, Enter, Backspace, and Escape.
